We are pleased to invite you to participate in this Event to be held in Tokyo, Japan,. The core programs of "Science Movie/Video Cafe" take place at Science Museum, and at Fuchu City Museum. We hope they will give you a wonderful experience of exploring new worlds of scientific visualization.

Contributors:

A Dome Festa Reel with a maximum length of 40 minutes, compiled from Festa contributions, will be made available to the participating dome theaters and other potential facilities capable of presenting it.
If possible, the host would like to get permissions from The Dome Festa contributors to use stills and produce trailer(including pictures and sound) to be used on the internet and in print and other media for the purpose of advertising the Dome Festa and Dome Festa Reels.

Entry Requirements

Dome Festa contributions must satisfy the following requirements

Length
  • Full-length feature shows: 15-40 min
  • Trailers: 5 min at maximum
  • Clips: 2 min at maximum
Format
  1. Dome-Master format, 24 bit RGB, 180degree equidistant image field, consecutively numbered picture sequences starting at o, filenames following the “img_000.png” scheme, without umlauts, without special characters or symbols;
  2. Orientation; below=front, left=east, right=west, top=rear, tilt angle 0 degree
  3. Resolution: 3K(3072x3072) or 4K(4096x4096); 2K(2048x2048) also permissible
  4. Picture format: PNG(JPG or TGA are admitted; no TIF)
  5. Frame rate: 30 fps;
  6. Sound: Stereo, uncompressed mono WAV for each channel, 16-bit, 48 kHz, filenames following the “sound.wav” scheme; for synchronization, the sound must begin with the first frame.

All contributions must be sent on DVD, flash-drives or external hard disk drives (FireWire or USB 2.0, NTFS formatted) till August 20, 2010. Entrants are responsible for their data carriers to be free of viruses.

Inscriptions required on the contribution media:
  • Title of work
  • Name and affiliation of entrant
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address

Entrants of full-length feature shows are required to informally register their shows The letter of registration must at least contain the following information:

  • Title of the show
  • Producer and year of completion
  • Length of the show in minutes(rounded up to whole minutes)
  • Language in which the show will be presented at the Dome Festa
  • Name and delivery address of the entrant
  • Phone number and e-mail address

The data carriers (hard drives and others) will be returned to the entrants only during or after the Dome Festa.
